Local Rules Update

Removal of model local rule E-4 (aeration hole relief,) and introduction of Model Local Rule E-2 Model Local rule E-3 remains in place.

As of 10/05/2024

Model Local Rule E-2 When a player's ball lies in the general area, the ball may be lifted, cleaned and replaced without penalty. The player must mark the spot of the ball before lifting it and the ball must be replaced on its original spot.

Model Local Rule E-3 If any part of a player's ball touches part of the general area cut to fairway height or less, the player may take free relief once by placing the original ball or another ball within 30cm of the original ball, no nearer the hole. The place of the original ball should be marked first. Note the General Area does not include the Teeing Area, Penalty Areas, Bunkers or the Putting Green.

With Rule E-2 and E-3 both in place from Saturday, they effectively means 30cm preferred lies on areas cut to fairway height or less, but balls that are not on the fairway can only be lifted and cleaned, but must be placed back back where they originally lay. It is only balls that are on fairways that are allowed to be moved 30cm. As usual, separate relief may be taken from abnormal course conditions such as temporary water.

The introduction of E-2 and E-3 gives a fairer application of relief as players in the rough are not benefitting from being able to improve their line of play by moving the ball 30cm. The rule is designed to allow relief from muddy conditions with out assisting an errant shot.

Players are reminded that it is their responsibility to know the rules and play by them.

Burglars Trophy Sponsorship

With the Burglars trophy just around the corner the club is looking for someone, a group or company to sponsor the upcoming event. We are looking for the sponsor to donate towards both Saturday rounds (15th and 22nd) of June to reach the ideal prize pool of $500.00 to be shared among the winners.

Noel Wilson 4BBB Knockout

The Noel Wilson 4BBB Knockout round 2 will be played tomorrow good luck to the remaining teams. The updated draw is in the members lounge and on the club's portal.

If the course is open, the 2nd round that is scheduled for tomorrow will go ahead. With a tight fixtures and no guarantee that there will not be washouts(course closures) in subsequent rounds, matches need to proceed even in poor conditions.

Player's entering knock-out events commit to being available for each round. Extending knock-out events due to rescheduling rounds means entrants may not be available for those later dates. Hence, rescheduling will only be considered in the case of course closures.

Players that use motorised carts take on the risk that they are not available for use on each round.

Course Update

club image

The recent rain events have stopped the course team's progress on some major projects including the 14th Tee and 10th Bunker after the course received over 600mm in the last 30 days.

The 14th tee is nearly shaped with just the drainage and irrigation to be installed. Then a layer of sand on top of the playing surface with turf to cover.

The 10th bunker only needs a few more trailer loads of fill to then be shaped and turfed.  Due to the large volume of rain we have received it is too wet to work in these areas as heavy machinery is needed for transportation of materials.

The concrete path alongside the 4th green has been concrete polished to remove wheel marks that had become embedded in the path.

With the course still so wet underfoot in some low lying areas, we ask that when members and guests that are driving carts, and walking on foot, to try their best to avoid these areas.  This will help protect the course moving into the winter months.
