Captain's Corner

A reminder to players to please call on on holes 2, 5 and 11. Players are to call up the group behind before commencing putting.  There has been some recent incidents of slow play and members are reminded that your position in the field is directly behind the group in front.

Our new tee system is designed to make the course more enjoyable and inclusive for everyone. The number and positions of tees has changed, with a total of four tees rated for both men and women. We have done this to encourage golfers to play from tees suitable to their level of skill and handicap, rather than being based on gender or having to play from the tees that happen to be out on the day.

The available tees are now, from longest to shortest: Black, Orange, White, Blue.

  • Black tees: our longest and most challenging course, previously the Blue tees.
  • Orange tees: a combination of the former Red and White tees.
  • White tees: a combination of the former Green and Pink tees. A great choice for women currently playing off the current Green or Pink tees or for men looking for a less difficult course, but don’t want to move all the way forward.
  • Blue tees: the shortest course, similar to the old Black tees except a bit shorter on some holes that have either a forced carry or a more difficult tee shot.

Practice Nets Closed

Members may have noticed liquid has been exiting the grease trap near the practice net area.  The pumps that are used for the grease trap and sewage need to be replaced.  This was to take place this morning but the truck emptying the sewer pit at 5.30am broke down and was not able to complete the works. The area may contain liquid sewage and as such the practice nets are closed and golfers are encouraged to remain away from the area.  The repairs will be completed on Monday followed by a extensive cleaning process before the nets will reopen.
